2. Framing Your Risks
In Module 1, we focused on helping you develop a more nuanced understanding of your ‘Why.’ If you have not completed that work, please pause, and do so now. This journey is too daunting to begin without the guidance those exercises provide. But motivation alone will only get you so far. Our next task is to understand your specific risks: what icebergs are most likely to sink your ship? What are the things most likely to keep you from your long-term goals? We will explore these questions with a deep dive into your genetic or inherited risks. This personalized risk profile will be a key input into developing your tactical plan in the second part of the program.
Learning Objectives

- What three main categories or types of information do you use to identify your longevity risk factors (your icebergs)?
- Why is a detailed family history so valuable?
- Why is genetic testing not a substitute for a detailed family history?
- Why are your genes not your destiny?
