12. Medications and Supplements

In this module, we are covering medications and supplements. There is an overwhelming number of possible pills, powders, and potions that one could take in their desire for longevity. Most of these will not be helpful, and many will even be harmful. But wading through the myriad possibilities is difficult even for a seasoned medical provider. How can someone with little-to-no medical training possibly figure out what to do? This module will provide a framework to make your options more manageable. We will also provide specific tools to help you decide whether any given medication or supplement is right for you. By the end of this module, you will feel much more prepared to discuss the pros and cons of any given medication or supplement with your medical provider.

  • How does considering different time horizons (e.g., short-term vs. long-term) impact your assessment of personal risk?

  • How can you use this tactic effectively if you’re not a medical professional?
